The 10-year U.S. Treasury note yield rose to a multi-year high on Monday ahead of this week’s Federal Reserve interest rate decision.
The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury — which influences mortgages, auto loans and credit card debt — was up more than 2 basis points at 5.00%. It hit the highest level since October 2023.

sgov is a t bill fund, it changes with the fed funds rate, so i'm not sure what the point of your observation is.
tlt is getting wrecked today and is at an all time low. the yen move failed, the treasury buy back failed, and the rate increase failed. it looks like a straight line to 6+ now unless the fed starts up QE.
i'm staying in sgov until something totally breaks and/or QE starts.

"“The pain will be felt first by individuals with variable-rate debt,” said Colin Slabach, a clinical assistant professor at New York University’s School of Professional Studies."
I love it when they track down some no name prof for a stupid quote like this. Woah, rates go up and people who have variable rates feel the impact. That's crazy!

i always wonder how "journalists" decide who to quote. do they have a rolodex of no-name profs they can quickly call for quotes about any given topic?
