Ohio State University's new president, Ravi V. Bellamkonda, will earn a base salary of $1.4 million, which is $300,000 more than his predecessor.
Bellamkonda's contract includes numerous benefits, such as a housing allowance, performance awards and a retention bonus, potentially totaling $14.5 million over his term.
Unlike the previous president's contract, Bellamkonda's includes a resignation clause that could make it financially costly for him to leave the position early.
Ohio State University's newly appointed president will make hundreds of thousands of dollars more than his predecessor, his contract shows.
Ravi Bellamkonda was named the university's 18th president March 12, mere days after former President Ted Carter resigned over an inappropriate relationship with someone seeking public support for her personal business, believed to be military podcaster Krisanthe Vlachos. Bellamkonda served as Ohio State's executive vice president and provost for a year under Carter, who was at the helm for just over two years.
