Of course a ton of die hard hipster faggots will see them on tour when they roll through Seattle 3-4 times and play the House of Blues in every major metro but eventually the gimmick will wear off and people will be like where the fuck is regular music again.

Like say what you want about Tame Impala but they have huge hits. They're in the top 50 streamed acts in the entire world. So they can go on tour and fill arenas and they have like 10 really famous songs. Doesn't that draw a lot more of an audience and command a higher ticket price? Than some weirdos banging on pots and pans who went viral one time on KEXP?
BTW the last several shows I've been to very few people were buying merch. Seems like the market has shifted on this somehow. Maybe the direct to consumer method is favored? |
