First of all, I'm seeing some freaky images on the screen, and the music is quite good. The monsters have unique strategies, like these doods with shields tend to huddle together in a kind of phalanx. while other monsters are like the cavalry who charge you. The best way to heal yourself is to use a variety of attacks and use your shield creatively. I just encountered some monster who's nearly invisible, and bullets go through him, but you can punch his ass with your fists all day long. Sometimes these humongous demons are fighting in the background and you want to watch, but you can't because you have to fight normal size demons. Right now I'm looking at this demom the size of a skyscraper and he's making me afraid to jump off a cliff.

The Doom remakes were all surprisingly pretty good

Eternal had a good deal of asset re-use but the core gameplay Bethesda fleshed out in the original was still quite nice and engaging well into the sequel

I've heard mixed things about TDA but the underlying idea and aesthetics seemed neat and conceptually core Doom

I haven't played any of the remakes or more recent entries in the series. I think the original Doom 2 was the last one I played to completion. At the same time this game feels very familiar, like the underlying "game" is still there but the demons have more character.

The 2018 one is worth a play. Design influences from Quake 3, Doom, and Bulletstorm all over it

Doom 2016 was only $10 so I copped it and I like it a lot more. It feels a lot more difficult when you don't have that fuckin shield

That's what I'm using. I never gamed on this TV before, but I got a good video card that fits in a mini-ITX case, so now my OLED is connected to an IRL gaming PC.

Ok, I guess the whole series is on sale because I copped Doom 2016 and Eternal for real cheap. I tried the Doom 2016 today and I believe it's superior to Doom: The Dark Ages. I'm doing a lot of melee shit because I got no ammo. In the Dark Ages, you basically have unlimited "ammo" in the form of this shield, but in Doom 2016 you only get this weak ass laser pistol and your fists. There's a shotgun but no ammo. Even the chainsaw requires ammo. I have only found like 5 grenades, tops so far.

I think Dark Ages is terrible, way worse than the other two modern Doom games. The setting, story, and characters are all retarded. Fucking lost it when they had cutscenes of a roundtable of demons passive-aggressively taking shots at each other in their lair.

I see that now, but in my case I went from straight OG Doom 2 to Dark Ages. I can see now than the 2016 remake is better. The one thing that made me lol about Dark Ages was how easy it felt compared to the original, but the 2016 remake is legit hard at times
