Super Mario Bros 1 and 2, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Galaxy(s), and Super Mario 3D World get a lot of love on xoxo. Super Mario Sunshine is basically excluded from every discussion about Mario or Nintendo. Why is this? It was awesome, and brought a shit lots of innovations with the water cannon and graphics.

Neckbeards on video game forums seem to bash the game a lot.

180. I thought I was alone in loving this game. I got pretty far but I don't think I ever beat it. One of great regrets of my life.

I think Galaxy basically ate it's lunch, but it's regarded as great.

Galaxy (and 2) ate every platform game ever made's lunch though. it was flawless. Possibly better than 3d World.

Exactly. 64 gets due praise, Sunshine gets some but more or less lumped in with 64. Galaxy was a fairly big step and the wii was very popular.
