That's the whole point of TAG. They're ugly, garish, and affordable, but someone who has a little bit of means can get one for a reasonable price and convince themselves they're wearing something that's just as good as the real thing. So they see something that sucks and isn't as good but they think it is because they can't tell the difference, but other people can tell. The whole point of being an old money WASP is to have taste and class regardless of what some nouveau riche Jew is doing. That's the whole point of being a WASP. Jews have no history to build upon so they fill it with an ersatz backstory that's about being just as good as the WASPs but slightly different. They're approximating culture without really understanding it. And that's why TAG is such a good business model for types of people who have no understanding of why things are the way they are.
