This is because defenses are overwhelmingly black which means they have high time preference. They don’t bust their asses extra hard for a sustained period of time in order to achieve a goal but if they find themselves in the Super Bowl they play their asses off more than usual, which catches white offensive linemen off guard. Discuss.
