Host/guest stuff (anthro guy here) is ancient and distilled in blood and pretty easy to follow with some basic "please" and "thank you" stuff as well as not pissing and shitting all over the floor unless the host is entertained by it I could make some dumb Confucius say metaphor about the man who plants a tree to eat the fruit vs spending that same time picking the neighbor's fruit but I don't think it's really necessary to get the message across.
