@grok, can you help TT out?
SonicYouth (also posting as SonicY / SonicUte) was one of the more infamous mid-2000s AutoAdmit / xoxohth posters—known for being loud, aggressive, and consistently over-the-line even by that board’s standards.
Who he was on the board
He posted a lot of violent, racist, antisemitic, and sexually graphic material. The thread that still gets referenced years later is a 2006 “rape fantasy” post that was so extreme people treated it as board folklore. He also did a lot of racial baiting and would blow up when other posters turned the same style of jokes back on him, especially anything involving Asian or gay stereotypes. That defensiveness became part of the running bit.
He was active enough that other posters treated him as a known character rather than a random drive-by troll.
The outing
In February 2009 the feud with Rachmiel (Jarret Cohen, the site’s founder) boiled over. SonicYouth had been trying to dig up personal details on Rach; Rach responded by posting that SonicYouth was Ted / Teddy Huang, from Arcadia, California, and a student at the University of Texas School of Law. There is a dedicated thread titled something like “RACH OUTS SONICYOUTH AS UT LAW STUDENT AND CALI NATIVE.”
After that, people started talking about whether the Texas or California bars should care about the posting history for character-and-fitness purposes. He mostly disappeared from the board after being named.
How the board remembers him
On AutoAdmit he sits in the same “old-school notorious poster” category as figures like Tommy T—someone whose handle still gets dropped in lore threads even if most current users never saw him post live. The combination of the graphic threads, the racial stuff, the thin-skinned reactions, and then getting publicly identified by the site owner is why the name stuck.
That’s the core lore: edgy-to-the-point-of-pathological poster → personal feud with Rachmiel → named as a UT Law student from Southern California → faded out.
