Floating a pardon of Maxwell, or refusing to reject it outright, is the kind of thing that would only make sense if Trump were facing actual criminal liability and needed her to exonerate him. He's not. This whole Epstein thing is just about his public image, and absolutely no one is going to believe any "exoneration" she gives to the man who has the ability to pardon her. In fact, the prospect of setting free the most guilty living accessory to Epstein's crimes will only further inflame those who are already mad about the story. |
