Anyway, would enjoy your thoughts. Won't deny the doom and gloom from the AI heads and Musk do make me pause but I've been around long enough to know the super intelligent can be subject to their own paranoia and bubble fears. My own usage of AI runs the gamut but find it more beneficial than not.
As for this bored, it's less anhedonia and more the idiots. Genuine racists, antisemites and Nazis have a way of killing the mood. 90% of my replies are cancelled before I post them. |

They are not my best friends and I don't have social conversations with them; however, AI as a tool is incredibly useful for some things. I use them like assistants. Back in the good old days when I had to work every day I always had really good secretaries. Sort of like that, but without the sexual tension. My AI Cybertruck is wonderful. It's like flying an airplane with a really good first officer.
There are no doubt dangers, but I am not smart enough to foresee what will happen vs. what could happen. The latter set is too enormous to spend any time worrying about what's in it. Maybe there will be some watershed event which results in a Herbertish Butlerian jihad. Absent that, the most likely thing will be that the tools continue to evolve, benefits will be had and problems will be encountered and solved. All systems need failsafes, and these will eventually be engineered in. Perhaps there will be an apocalypse or perhaps not. I just keep on truckin'. |

The Bomb was the big meme. And now no one worries about it despite that we still have the capacity to kill everyone on the planet with nuclear weapons.

Her hobbies are religion and reading. We both spend a lot of time interacting with our kids and somewhat less, but still noticeable time, with other family members. She has a very large family.
She gets up at 7 every morning and stays up until 1 a.m. She's a very good cook and prepares a variety of dishes. We usually have turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas could be anything, though some kind of ham dish is common. Increasingly we eat out. Last night we closed down the country club restaurant with friends. The staff were glad to see us finally leave. They know when they see us that we will probably be there for a while talking and drinking. Well, I drink. |
