Thyssenkrupp likely to sell its Steel Business to Jindal Steel
Announcement likely during German Chancellor’s India visit
Big win for Bharat 🇮🇳
Thyssenkrupp Steel is Germany's largest flat steel producer, historically making it a significant chunk of the nation's total steel output, though exact percentages fluctuate; it produces around 11 million tonnes annually, a major volume for Germany's overall steel production, which totaled around 36.9 million tonnes in 2022, showcasing its dominant role in the domestic market, especially for high-grade steel needed in the energy transition.

in UK TATA bought the last British steel comp IIRC and recently they had to shut down... yep:
Tata Steel closed its blast furnaces at Port Talbot and cut jobs in the UK due to massive financial losses, driven by high electricity costs, cheap Chinese imports, strong pound, and carbon taxes, making traditional steelmaking economically unviable. The move was part of a strategic shift towards greener, lower-carbon steelmaking using electric arc furnaces, supported by a UK government investment, with plans to restart production using new technology by 2027/202

"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer."
-Frank Zappa.
P.S. I think you need a steel company too. USA still has Nucor and Cleveland Cliffs, but US Steel was the best name
