DDR4 didn't even require it. DDR5 is the first time they started making totally different DIMMs for servers and consumer boards. But Intel already has consumer chipsets that will work with server DIMMs. Just tell Asus to put server DIMM slots on a gaming motherboard so the user can buy old server RAM and save $$$$$$
