i don't mean to pile on (even though he "outed" me in that thread yesterday as you), and i give the guy credit for going it as a solo because i wouldn't have the balls to do that. i was having trouble getting a jerb when i graduated and i was close to just throwing in the towel and moving on to something else.
but wtf man, he went to a school that has consistently been in the T7 or so for the last 25 years, and is currently ranked #3 - above HLS - by USNWR. the poor reasoning, typos, bad writing, etc all make no sense. how in the hell did he get into one of the most elite law schools in the entire world? and a school, at that, known for grinding the shit out of students (unlike YLS or HLS, which are probably NOT RIGOROUS by any measure).
do we know for sure that he graduated from that school?

my background is odd and probably very unusual. i worked in literal shitlaw for 8-9 months. insurance defense. it was terrible, just absolutely awful.
then i started working for a solo who'd gone to dartmouth and YLS. he had a pretty nice practice and was a smart dood. he had really high standards, and i am a pretty good writer. i honed my skills under that guy and got a lot of experience that i wouldn't have gotten at a bigger firm.
then i went to a bigger regional firm (~200 attorneys), and the partners there really got all over me for minor typos and mistakes and such, so i improved my attention to detail.
i jumped to biglaw and the nitpicking was on steroids, and i learned how to bullshit clients.
i can't imagine trying to figure any of this stuff out on my own straight out of law school.

I think the majority is inherent rather than learned.
The start of my legal career was rather ignominious, but I still became rather good just from seeing depo transcripts and filings from other good attorneys and emulating the quality parts. The catch is that it takes inherent talent to know what is garbage and what should be emulated, and the vast majority of attorneys do not have that. My experience with some median hires from my own "Top 16" school was that they were terrible and could not do good work even with 100x the feedback and coaching I received. You can go sentence by sentence telling them how to write well and they still cannot do it. In a 10 page draft, there might be less than 5 sentences that cannot be improved on in some major way. And broad issues like strategy and organization are impenetrable to them...they can only follow instructions in the most basic manner, like keeping an introduction short, but it will never be good. I am sure there are many, many attorneys who missed a few less LSAT questions than the ones I am discussing, but are similarly deficient of talent, and I don't think any amount of teaching or experience will make them much better.

he's an aggressive feuding faggot. i don't consider any of this "piling on" but just another candy ride/zzz two minutes of hate where the bort collectively recognizes what a retard he is. it happens and it'll pass. but i have a hard time feeling pity when he takes every opportunity to lash out for days if someone triggers him.
i've met plenty of of elite ls people who are truly retarded. he had a 4.0 in poli sci so it's plausible his lsat was mid-160s. a midwit can achieve that with effort and luck. also he seems quite autistic and might be good at pattern recognition and shit and but terrible at writing. autists who performed strongly on standardized tests aren't always the best writers.
also good chance he got a big bump for his neurodivergence (crippling autism).

i don't buy he got into that school with a 4.0 in basket weaving and a middling LSAT score.
it really makes no sense. maybe his family donated millions to the school or something.
do you really get a leg up for being aspie?
