Stolly also argued that Elizabeth Siders had been pregnant for most of her life since getting married at 15 and had never received proper postpartum care, leaving her “suffering from mental health issues”. Stolly said he had “competency concerns”.

“We have an individual … who was married at age 15, who has essentially been pregnant for the better part of two decades … [Siders] has never fully gone through any postpartum period and has not been receiving regular medical care that would be appropriate for someone who has had 16, 18 children,” he told the court.

“We are not saying that there’s any conduct at this point that has been proven, certainly, by the state to be illegal, but if her mindset was not there, and she didn’t have the ability or the capacity to understand it and make decisions in an informed way, that could certainly negate legal liability,” Stolly said.

There is also speculation that Siders is currently pregnant again, after she appeared in court without handcuffs.

Just lol that since the begining of time nobody thought 'women' have a 'post-partum' period where they need some health 'expert' to 'treat' them until like 10 years ago.

In ancient times, village elderwomen sequestered new mothers away from the husband, as was required by the Laws of the Fertility Gods, until at least thrice seasons of grain had been harvested, and the child was no long at the teat. This allowed the mother a well earned break from wifely duties, and a chance to lose that pesky baby weight and work on her wine making skills. Only then would the mother be released back to the husband, unless the husband had been killed in battle, in which case the elders would find her a new husband from the neighboring villages' Chad Pool, and after an exchange of goods had been brokered.
