I actually really dig these.
They have a surreal pop art quality but it is imbued with an optimistic idealism that is reflected probably in the art and music created by Japanese artists in the 80s when they were on top of the world in a way similar to America in the 1950s.
I know people who went to Japan in the late 80s up until about 1990 and they said people were just partying, the energy was insane and the future, to use an 80s term, was so bright you had to wear shades.
