For a band of limited talent, Oasis had a certain magic for a couple of years (their sound, liam's voice, noel's ability to write or steal a hook). I would take morning glory and (maybe) definitely maybe over any album of Blur or Pulp. Blur was the best band of the 3 over their career IMO.

Pulp appealed to me the most, Blur had some great songs but a lot of mediocre output, Oasis was solid arena rock but never ever experimented or did anything but pub rock songs.

all three are objectively MASSIVELY overrated and mediocre.

they aren't in the same league with earlier waves of Brit rock bands. even the British bands of the 80s were significantly better.

'Britpop' was overly derivative, music-journalist hyped rubbish. it was 97% dreck. maybe like 4 or 5 songs even hold up today.

it's sort of analogous to people who went around saying 'The Strokes' were geniuses for being note-for-note Tribute Band level ripoffs of Television (right down to the goofy 'retro' haircuts and new-wave jackets, etc).

a pathetic anticlimax to 4 decades of British domination of Rock music, lacking any merit whatsoever on any level.

I've listened to all of their records. You try to come across as some big brain on music and then cite their most famous song which was specifically made to be a single for MTV. Not worth my time.

They have inspirations like every band does. And who cares, as long as it's entertaining that's all that matters.

Oasis Blue Pulp. There's gigantic gaps between each one so this isnt really a debateable ranking.
