they are trying to force him into a point guard role, which i would argue his handles are not yet good enough for and he needs some more time to physically develop. kid's only 18 and will be playing against grown-ass men.
he can definitely initiate offense in the half court (he did most of the time at duke) and is a great decision maker/passer, so he could definitely play a point forward role in the nba, but he shouldn't be their primary ball handler. plus they have nembhard right there, who i think would be fine playing a lot in the mavs lineups given how huge their frontcourt is.
im moderately concerned for coop that they are going to force him into a role he really shouldnt be playing because kyrie is out and a veteran pg is the one thing they lack
