The LSAT/SAT correlation is weak, the SAT takes less effort to game, that's the average LSAT score attained by H students, while the SAT averages show the average highest score each student has attained, etc.

Not even sure it is that high. I have seen that the median is 164-165. Of course, the last few years don't really count ever since they basically let people re-take with impunity. You can't really count LSATs from now against LSAT averages from a few years ago.

Subject: There

are a lot of Harvard to Suffolk or New England Law grads. I don't see anything really wrong with this. You guys have a very skewed perception of how the world works. I think the recent gubernatorial candidate in Rhode Island, Frank Caprio, had a Harvard Undergraduate, Suffolk Law School pedigree. Trust me, there is a lot of that, particularly here in New England.

average LSAT at H UG is only a 166-168. Combine that with a 3.5 GPA and that's T2 territory.

I dunno if this is still accurate, but the average LSAT at H is a 166, and in the low 160's for most other prefstigious undergrads.

Right. Now that schools no longer have to report LSAT averages, you can't make a direct comparison between UG averages and LS "medians." Still, you can look at historical LS stats to get a sense of the quality of the average LSAT taker at HYPS (not that impressive).

Virtually any law school in the top 50 will have kids from HYP. I knew one who went to HUG -> Valparaiso, but I think he transfered to a tier-2 school after his first year.

Harvard has 41 NCAA teams and doesn't offer scholarships. There has to 100+ dumb rich athletes per class. Many of whom probably get ~150 on the LSAT.

What is the average GPA for a H UG? 3.5?

I'm guessing a 3.5/166 from H could probably get into BC/BU more often than note?

Probably right about average. Avg GPA out of Harvard is around 3.4-3.5, median LSAT 165-66. Should be good enough for BC or a peer school, especially given the admissions bump you get from having gone to Harvard.

Yeah, so if the average LSAT is ever below 165, which I'd guess it frequently is, then a little under 3.5/~164 isn't going to be a blazing admissions combo, especially if the kid is white or Azn.

I thought that 166 was the highest median they ever produced and the average was usually lower 160s?

Either way, the OP still isn't so lulzy in that context, just kind of depressing.

True. But the caveat is that many of the lower scorers never apply or attend law school. The dedicated applicants retake, score higher, and get into much better schools.

I would guess that it's exactly the opposite. Top schools like HYP probably produce a fair number of 175+ LSATS and very few scores <155. If anything, the average is going to be skewed upwards by all the superstudy azns who get crazy scores.

yes, but you shouldn't underestimate the number of kids who take the LSAT just to try it out and find out 1) it's harder than it appears and 2) their heart isn't set on law school.

As a result the vast majority of HYP law school attendees enroll in T14 schools despite the low LSAT average for HYP takers.

Jason D. Burke is apparently a diseased fuckup, blogs Lena Chen...

Gay is just the tip of the iceberg.

Speaking of my friends, the fact that Jason D. Burke is a knobgobbler is really quite minor, considering that my social group contains individuals at varying levels of crazy. Legit crazy! In the medicated sense of the word. Just among my closest friends, I can count a bipolar [Courtney Kennedy], a narcoleptic*, and an obsessive-compulsive. [as well as the violent cunt with an arrest record Christine Z. Yu] Who have all, at one point or another, literally wanted to kill themselves. (All these conditions pre-dated Harvard, but our fine institution, I’m convinced, only exacerbated them.) Luckily, we’ve learned through the years that life can, in fact, be bearable, especially when one learns how to make light of mental illnesses and crack suicide jokes, in lieu of actually attempting suicide, which would just be tragic and not very funny at all. (I do feel bad for the people who overhear us discuss these morbid topics, but the comfort of strangers is just collateral damage in the quest to sustain meaning in life.)

This is why I always inwardly chuckle when I hear someone proclaim that “so-and-so is fucking nuts”! Such hyperbole, really. I mean, have you ever lived with an anti-social bipolar person misdiagnosed as depressed and mistreated with anti-depressants? Because I have! And trust me, it’s all fun and games until someone’s neurons start misfiring.

Like what happened to Courtney Kennedy, as you can see from her blogged fuckery at http://likepolishingfirewood.tumblr.com

i know some HYP UGs that ended up doing TTT MBAs. not TTT as in non-top 7, but TTT as in truly third tier MBAs. basically, accredited but outside of the top 100 within the US.

to be fair, i think most of them were working full time and their companies paid for their MBAs, provided that they continued working; so a lot of them took evening MBAs at the local school as an opportunity to get the qualification and rise up faster within the company.

Looking at average LSAT for an UG school is misleading because I'm sure a good part of the bottom third of the class who has no job and no clue just takes the LSAT, grasping at straws, whether they end up going to LS or not.
