Embarrassed to admit this but I have been watching both The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Real Time with Bill Maher lately.

Rahm Emanuel and another Jew from the Washington Post I've never heard of, "Josh Rogin" both said the same line within a week on different interviews. "Trump is great at diagnosing problems but he screws up the solution."

It's kooky how they roll this shit out in unison. It's like they're building a case for 2028 already. Yes, Trump was totally right about us neglecting the working class for half a century, but his solutions are all wrong!

Jfc libs

It's an improvement. Trump is here; they don't need to supplicate him, but they can't keep pretending that this other half of the country that voted for him doesn't exist any longer than they already have.

They are only doing this long enough to get back in power. It's all a dog and pony show. The second they win back power they'll go right back to demonizing their opponents.

If they clean up their messaging and focus on center-left economic policies first I will probably vote Dem as I am extremely weary of the Republican Caucus and "more money for rich people" as a political platform

There are a lot of 2024 Trump voters in the suburbs of major metros who are ripe for taking back. The middle 10% of voters are extremely fickle. Places like the suburbs of Dallas aren't at all on board with some great working class renaissance. They want money letters to go up. They want cheap goods. They want all the economic stuff that neocons and neolibs provided.

The great restoration of the working class better take root quickly or I think fickle voters will quickly vote for change. I think this is one of the weaknesses of democracy. Anything that takes a long time can't be planned far into the future. The 4 year window makes it so people want what they want now.

If Dems drop all the DEI woke nonsense, agree to basic shit like continuing Trump's border policy, and don't let too many radical Jews into the conversation they have a chance if they just run on "Remember how stuff was when money letter go up? Yeah, pretty good right. OK we're going to do that again."

re: working class opportunities and your second paragraph---years of growth can be destroyed in weeks, and weeks of damage can take decades to repair. A lot of what Trump *could* do probably won't see positive results for years down the line, and that's lamentably too long of a cycle for digitally brainrotted voters to see and understand, and you touch on this as well

I'd say Dems really need to get the labor unions back on board but tbh I think it might just be a shrewd negotiating tactic on their part and maybe Dems sensibly don't want to cuck to that just yet.

Last paragraph I mostly agree with. Noticing this sort of thing and becoming radical in response to opposition political radicalism sucks shit and quickly makes for a vicious cycle

No one has any answers. It's all fog of war. The benefit of Trump is it's a guy trying things. He may cause damage but I don't think it will be long term. What I think a lot of xoers don't understand is just how bad things are for regular people. The wealth inequality is way too high and that's why Trump is in the White House. Bottom line somebody needs to do something for the workers. The problem is intractable and not going away. You can't just blindly continue on the way things had been going. To win a national election you have to offer solutions to these very people. The working class isn't going anywhere.

Dems can pick off the LMC/MMC, and do better with UMC though. And their win condition is yet another extremely tight election that comes down to the wire. The next election will be extremely close. I don't think anyone can win it without support of the working class. There's too many people who haven't benefitted one iota from all the wealth generation in this country. It's not going anywhere so you may as well try to make it better. You may hate it but to people who don't have a anything Trump is fighting for them and that's very powerful. The left doesn't have anything to counteract that right now.
