They lost the fun sleazy feeling and more and more of the gore
There is some stuff about VI I like though; the opening is cool and the ending is neat and I like the hardass cop who heroically tackles Jason at the end (even though he gets a really gnarly death). |

Date: April 24th, 2025 10:43 AM Author: luka doncic's mistress friday the 13th movies were the first horror movies i ever watched so i have a special love for them. i know objectively most of them aren't that good (and some are downright terrible) but my nostalgia overrides any need for discerning taste and i really do love them.
re: sleaze... i dislike the LACK OF 180 TITS in some of the movies. they're really all over the place.
honestly i think the series as a whole is kinda a mess. first jason is a kid and his mother says he's dead, but then he's jumping out of the lake to pull people under. but wait- a couple years later, he's a full-grown mortal adult running around killing people. then he's dead. then he's undead. then he's zapped back to life by lightning. then he's brought to manhattan. then sent to hell and his spirit inhabits other bodies? and then into space. its just... laughably awful. and yet i own EVERY one of these movies and love them all.
the opening of vi (im watching it right now) is 2839432894032890 and yes, the scene with teh cop dad at the end is great too.
