SHARE DENVER (KDVR) — A driver was caught going over 100 mph in Douglas County after they said they were late and trying to get back to work after their lunch break.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X that Deputy Whinery pulled over a driver going 102 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver reportedly said they were speeding because they were late getting back from their lunch break.
“102 MPH… because you’re late to work?!” the sheriff’s office said in an X post.

SHARE DENVER (KDVR) — A driver was caught going over 100 mph in Douglas County after they said they were late and trying to get back to work after their lunch break.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X that Deputy Whinery pulled over a driver going 102 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver reportedly said they were speeding because they were late getting back from their lunch break.
This Colorado county racked up the most speeding citations in 2024 “102 MPH… because you’re late to work?!” the sheriff’s office said in an X post.

“Just take my license and give me a ticket so I can get to work.”
According to Colorado law, driving 25 mph or more over the posted limit is a Class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense. The driver is subject to a minimum sentence of 10 days in jail or a $150 fine, or both, and a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail or a $300 fine, or both, along with other fines.
“Speeding isn’t worth it—no job is more important than your safety or the safety of others on the road,” the sheriff’s office said. |
