In the past they were able to meet those obligations by exporting wheat to Africa, but that's no longer feasible. Zelenskyy is only asking for $40bn, so he's only asking for 80% of his expected annual liabilities on those pension payments, unless he expects the population of pensioners to decline sharply, reducing overall strain on the budget.
I would not mind of NATO propped up those pension payments, since the pensioners did nothing wrong. THEY are not the reason Ukraine is retarded. THEY are not the reason it sucks. |
