There's a lot of propaganda right now in the media about the end of the financial world. Turns out, literally none of it is true.

I just read an Axios article that said "doom and gloom is coming surely (probably. At least we hoap)". Bloomberg also trying to put a damper on it. Nasdaq is now down only 0.35 lmao. It's going to keep tip into the black today. This is the NOFEAR era of investing. You really just have to choose to not be a cuck in this life.

I made a decision 20 years ago to follow pure buy and hold and throw whatever I could into broad market assets and never touch them again no matter what happens, and so far I have stuck by my rule without fail

I am very happy I made this decision

This is unironically cr. The funny thing is that if you did this forever and you made the right calls hypothetically you could beat Berkshire Hathaway by 100x. I mean, if you had randomly decided to put a hundred k into Nvidia the day they announced their partnership with OpenAI in 2016 and merely justified it as I simply believe in this technology long term you would be richer than nearly every poaster who has ever poasted. I'm not saying that would have been easy or simple to do. But theoretically you could have done it. And if you just buy stocks that are good generally you will be fine anyway and if they're 'wonderful super companies' you will shoot the moon.

The temptation to break the rule and panic sell is there sometimes, like a few weeks ago. In those moments, it is extremely important to firmly say “180 fuck libs” and to move the hand away from the cursor hovering over the sell button and pour another whiskey instead.

1800000000000000

Sometimes I sell a highly valued asset so I can buy more of a cheaper one with more growth potential.

I don't always analyze securities, but when I do, I prefer NVIDIA. Stay greedy, my friends.

The Mayflower Compact was a business agreement. This country was founded by venture capitalists. The English crown offered them ridiculously favorable terms to colonize America on her behalf. The terms were self governance. The table stakes were self reliance. The plan was to get rich or die trying. The religion was Calvinism. Holidays were put on Earth by Satan to trick us. Go to work fag except on Sundays when you can only eat baked beans.

I believe that I cannot pick the market because any available information is priced in faster than I can process it, and the market will be smarter than me much more often than I will be smarter than the market. The optimal strategy therefore is NOT to pick stocks or to time the market but buy and hold market ETFs instead. The only active strategy I adopt is to weight very heavily on US stocks and completely avoid Euro or China stocks.

According to Warren Buffet ETFs are for people who are ignorant of the true value of businesses. For 95% of people this works incredibly well. Buffet, however made billions by making approximately two decisions per year for 50 years.

I'm not gonna front buttcheeks and pretend like I'm some kind of security analyzing guru. I don't actually know what I'm doing. I'm just saying there is a way to beat the S&P long term. With conviction. If you find a way to convince yourself of something beyond a reasonable doubt like Michael Burry shorting the housing market in 2008. But you have to be right. Not saying I personally am capable of this but in the infinite scope of humanity it is theoretically possible to be an irl investing genius.

unlike Buffett, I have none of the time, the ability, the permission, or the team of staffers to spend 6 months looking through the entrails of a company

and it wouldn’t make economic sense to do this with respect to a simple individual’s portfolio rather than a few billion

ETF buy and hold is the optimal strategy for ordinary investors like me

but it takes a little willpower not to panic sell sometimes

the only truly based and redpilled thing is to diversify by owning the SP500.

500 companies competing against each other, hiring only the best indians available, and you, the shareholder, will benefit. only the best will survive. if your company cant hack it, get the fuck off my index.
