No serious business organization uses Mac.

Apple makes toys, Wintel makes productivity tools, a lot less sexy, but much more useful.

just because a fucking retard like you don't know it exists does not mean you don't need it for a firm to function.

by way of analogy, just because idiot like you do not know how apply Newton's formula of universal gravitation does not mean gravity doesn't exist.

i know what it is, douchebag. my point is, in terms of what law firms need, that one should distinguish between products that end-users interface with from stuff that's behind the scenes.

Lol. Westlaw is not used on the primary computer in most law firms. You have a PC, and then a dedicated Westlaw terminal next to it. WL Terminal is provided by West.

The firm wide versioning and file system would probably be the toughest to transition unless you go to something like Google Docs.

The other factor is that large orgs love IT consistency and for good reason. There is no benefit to allowing Macs but it is a huge pain to deal with shit like training the help desk to deal with potential Apple related problems or to have IT deal with two OSes when considering software changes and such.

Not really, no. In terms of priorities, where would you say IT managers come down on "provide users with stylistic based choices" v. "maintain IT consistency"?

No. They just waste money on dumb stuff. If anything this would make me think I could pwn them in court because they wouldnt be able to relate to a jury or pwn them in settlement negotiations because some hipster working at apple store convinced them to pay $2k for something worth $350.
