No, $200 is not too expensive for a pair of sunglasses. Polarized (like those) are worth paying the extra $50 or whatever, in my opinion.

I'd be fine with some no name brand of questionable durability if it is cheap, but I'm picky about the style and can't find it elsewhere.

Depends. Some people are prone to losing shit like sunglasses. Are you one of those people? If so, I'd recommend something cheaper.

Then again, some of us don't lose all of our shit on a regular basis. I have a pair of $300 sunglasses I bought 4-5 years ago and they've been great and will probably be great for a couple more years.

Definitely not prone to losing stuff although I'd probably have to exclude these from certain activities like whitewater canoeing.

Oh yeah obviously. If you're gonna buy nice sunglasses you should also buy some cheap ones. If you're responsible with your stuff then I say go for it. $200 for polarized sunglasses is well worth it and will last you awhile.

This is CR. I have a similar pair of Ray-Bans that I only wear in social type settings. I have an old pair (still perform well) that I keep in my car and I don't mind if they get banged up.
