During tests last summer, observers noted that interceptors were slow, plodding, and frequently struck the wrong target.
"Here we see an interceptor turn away from the intended target and instead enter a nearby liquor store," said Dr. David Geldmacher, a research scientist with Raytheon. "And here we see another ignore its target entirely and pursue a young woman down the street," he added.
