In a hypothetical world where they'd released Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, and Amnesiac and then all committed mass suicide or been blown up in the WTC circa early-fall 2001, I'd argue they'd probably go down as one of The Best Bands of All-Time, most of that because of the quality of their work to that point and then with some bump because of the untimely death factor. Like many bands there was an inflection point in Radiohead's trajectory, probably around that time (Hail to the Thief was fucking edgelord garbage), where their work became less art-driven and more motivated by just keeping the beast fed, and their subsequent output has definitely hurt their overall reputation and made them something of a self-parody. They have a handful of songs that are just 180. For U2 I like the Joshua Tree, but they had some popular songs I really didn't like, and I haven't listened to the rest of their catalogue to form an opinion as a whole. For a lot of bands I like particular albums but not necessarily the band, for instance Pet Sounds is one of my fav albums but I never got that into the Beach Boys. Nirvana and Radiohead are kind of equal for me. Actually I like Radiohead's music better for one, much of it anyway. Also Nirvana has a lot of Scum fans, plus Kurt Kobain was kind of a bitch. I'm not the type of person who would ever have an opinion on what this means for smaller bands or for fans or the monetary value of music like that. But I thought it was pretty 180 that I could just enter 3 dollars and get the album for that price, because that's exactly what I did.
