Am I sympathetic? Sure, it sucked. But literally everyone suffered during the Korean War and the occupation. One of my great uncles got blown up by an artillery shell. Another one was killed right before he was supposed to take his appointment as prime minister. Shit, even the Royal Family suffered greatly, the war profiteers lost family members, nobody was immune. But man, that was 70 fucking years ago. Getting near a century. Time to get over it and move on.
Also, I will say your post is very Korean. I am a big proponent of diverse views and thinking. I appreciate your opinion as well as NYUUG, which is why I don’t ever get personally mean to anyone here. But you have to appreciate that there are people who think like me, and that both my opinion and yours are necessary in Korea so that a middle ground can be achieved and progress can be made. If everyone thinks the same, then everything will just stay the same. THere has to be pushback on both sides. It’s bad enough that everyone tries to act and dress the same in Korea, we don’t need the thought police trying to tell us how to think. |
