To be fair,
IMO I think libs should vigorously oppose this horrible goal and strenuously demand that people making less than $150,000 a year "continue to pay their fair share."
THE ORANGE MAN IS BAD! Say it with me, libs!

To be fair,
"What's holding you back, slick?"
IDK, probably thinking that sadly pretty all of the Democrats and many of the Republicans serving in Congress are faggots?
But I will certainly be looking forward to Democrats shitting on and running against this horrible goal in 2026. IMO that seems like a winning position to take, AFAIK. Almost as popular as staying poker faced and refusing to stand up and applaud for a retarded black kid who survived childhood cancer.

Totally agree - Republicans will never go for it! But Trump (MAGA Upon His Name!) is a true populist, has a bully pulpit, and isn’t called DONALD DEALMAKER for no reason.
So, since we all agree he is totally sincere on this desire, we can at least be confident he will push the issue really hard and take some maximalist stances to extract the YUGEST possible result for the little guy here, right?
Surely he’ll find some time to advocate for doing right by the little guy in between hawking Tesla’s on the WH lawn and fellating Bibi, and criticizing Schumer for not being Jewish enough, right?
Or nah? If you don’t think he will, I wonder if you have any thoughts on why not?

that's true but there are exceptions for poasters like obeezy.
to be clear the point is that trump loves to say retarded stuff to force libs to take the opposite position that gives them a bad look. kinda like the "no tax on tips" shit. tbf is pointing out how stupid libs are for taking the bait.
obeezy starts with talking about the policy but it devolves quickly into a mush of vague TDS noises about israel and tesla. it's like gish galloping except we can all just say "lol obeezy" and walk away.
i'm autistic and have enough adderall that i've tried good faith point-by-point debate with obeezy and he's not capable of it, so people have learned to just sling the occasional "lol obeezy" at him and move on.

Any specific examples of me being “not capable” of engaging in a point by point debate? Spoiler alert: Gunner has no examples.
What libs “took the bait”?
While you’re here, will you go ON THE RECORD that Trump will take a really strong maximalist negotiation posture to reduce the tax burden on folks making under $150K? I bet he’ll advocate for this VERY STRONGLY as part of these upcoming budget talks…right?
Hello? Anybody there? Is this working?

Why’s that? I’ve pointed out it’s hilariously laughably obvious cons will never seriously pursue this policy. Ive flagged numerous other examples of Donald and his admin floating ideas they have no intention of pursuing. I’ve mocked Claire and other cons for taking at face value a proposal like this and pointed out that Donald will never push this policy in a meaningful way.
I’ve not seen a meaningful rebuttal to those points. If you have one, fire away kiddo. Perhaps you feel that Donald will take a really strong maximalist stance on this - do you, sport?
Oh and while you’re here and relatively sober, tiger, don’t forget this!

To be fair,
In this particular case, I think even getting Dems to fight back on this would constitute an objective "win" for Donald Trump politically. IDK if you're aware of this, but this policy would be HUGELY popular among normie voters.
The only question is whether Dems will take the bait. I doubt it, because IMO they are mature adults who think logically and strategically about this sort of thing and s--

Dems don’t have to on this one. Donald had it delivered by an underling.
Wonder why he chose that route since, as you assure us, he is so, so sincere on this long held policy initiative of his?
Do you think he’s as serious about that as he was about his infrastructure plan, his health care plan, repealing the carried interest loophole, etc?

To be fair,
We'll never hear about this again? Drumpfth won't ever make a statement himself about it? And if he did, Dems wouldn't take the bait?
You sure about all of that, Beez? Positive? Because IDK brother, based on how wrong and blown out you've been about pretty much everything over the last six months, I'm starting to think you might be kind of a fucking retard.

To be fair,
OK so I re-read all of the replies in this thread and it turns out that publicly floating the idea of no federal taxes on anyone making under $150,000 is actually a retarded and stupid thing for Blondalf Drumpfth to do for, uh, reasons. Putting this out there was yet another crushing blow for the Cheeto Dictator.
Damn, Orange Man Bad just can't stop fucking up!

To be fair,
This is right up there with the "who cares if Elon Musk manages to cut a trillion dollars in government spending out, ooooooh big whoop $5k check to all Americans no one gives a fuck faggot."
Actually, in the rael world, a ton of people would both care about that and be delighted with that outcome (just like a ton of people would care about and by delighted by having whatever they are currently paying in federal taxes rolled back even if to you and me it's a "small" amount of money).
Whether you think that makes them poor or gay or retarded or pathetic is utterly irrelevant, because we live in a democratic republic and their collection opinions (expressed via voting in upcoming elections) matter infinitely more than your single opinion does.
But please, by all means, continue to openly sneer at and condescend to the "retards" and the "poors." It really worked well for the Democrats in 2024, IMO. Who cares about holding IRL power? What's really important is projecting an air of unshakeable superiority on the internet!

Half the US does not pay federal income taxes as it is. Their “federal taxes” are Medicare and social security. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fact-checking-romneys-47-percent-comment/
If you have tariffs that is how the working population pays taxes; you could also do it like Canada and Europe with sales tax.
What’s the funniest part about the whole tariff thing is that no one is harping on the it’s a tax on the poor/working class. Of course, that’s because no one actually cares about them in the liberal media and the reality is that tariffs are born by corporations and exporters to the country imposing them (otherwise why would there be retaliatory tariffs).

Heck, will cons even venture a guess as to whether Trump will spend more or less time advocating this policy stance than he has hawking Teslas?

To be fair,
The point being that he's Jewish? Yes we know, Blondalf Drumpfth is not based on the JQ and he has a number of kikes in his cabinet. Wow, I am shocked... I truly had no idea he was a Zionist Boomer on that issue up until you pointed this out!
Or if your argument instead that Lutnick is just spouting some shit that he made up in his own evil little kike mind, rather than pushing line that Drumpfth told him to say? Because if you really think he's out there hitting the talk show circuit pushing an agenda that Drumpfth hasn't previously signed off on, you're unironically a real fucking retard my friend.

It's an intriguing thought. Income disparities have exploded in the US, the top 10% taking in most income and also already paying most taxes. Numbers are like top 10% has 2/3s of the national income and bottom 50% only 2.5%. I've long assumed that eventually it will catch up and I'll have to start paying more taxes and the GOP is in a transitional phase, evolving into a 21st century New Deal party and the Trump coalition has no love for upper class America in a similar way to the New Deal generation.
I do think everyone should be paying some tax as part of being a citizen and sharing the burden. But most people see taxes as a single thing and how it's broken down into SS/Medicare/Fed/State is irrelevant. If the feds stopped taxing anyone under 150k, most people would still be paying Ss/Medicare/State. So they'd still see themselves as paying taxes.
Maybe there is an argument in doing away with fed income tax for everyone below a certain threshold if we also shift more Fed burdens to the states? Would it be more cost effective? Open to persuasion either way.

To be fair,
What?! No, this can't possibly be an "intriguing thought" (just like it can't possibly be a smart political play to be floating this idea out there)... a bunch of shrieking liberals who have NEVER been wrong about literally dozens if not hundreds of political issues/predictions over the last six months have ASSURED ME that this is totally insane and retarded and also that Drumpfth will definitely never pursue this in any form during his term in office, etc etc etc etc. Trust me, they KNOW these things! They never miss!

Wow Claire totally vindicated this very deeply held belief of Trump’s has indeed become a rallying cry for MAGA and I can’t imagine Trump will let his party pass legislation without this included.
TBF what’s your favorite of the many hard lines in the sand Trump has drawn on this issue that is clearly near and dear to his heart?
