Date: June 29th, 2025 11:03 PM Author: jag describe for some perspective, i get woken up in the middle of the night to run to the hospital for an emergency case. once i finish, i just hang around to do administrative work instead of going home since I still have the whole next day of clinic (40+ patients) and elective cases to take care of, which will take me to 7-8pm. this works out to ~100h/week, but will gradually decrease to 70-80h as i get more senior. A millimeter length fuckup by me will permanently maim or kill my patient, so there's no taking it easy.
now im not complaining because i get paid high six figures for this. but the only people i know who work harder than me are other doctors |
