We just have a very vapid society and have normalized that.
People used to learn and catch on that it was better to give presents than receive when they were like 6 years old. Now you poor Redditors who literally don't have kids so they can avoid to treat themselves to more experiences at Disney World. Like they literally don't have kids so they can hoard their money and cut other kids in line on the Winnie the Pooh ride.
Similarly, more UMC types don't have kids so they can "travel" - which really means go to nice hotels and restaurants. So they forgo kids so that they can be waited on by servants, and then take nice pictures of the food the servants prepared and brought them. |
