This is truly the most demoralized I’ve been politically in my lifetime. I remember my first time voting. I walked into the Miami-Dade polling location to happily cast my vote for Al Gore, the man I saw the night before on South Beach because I got invited by college activist on campus at Florida International University to an Al Gore rally featuring Stevie Wonder, Debra Cox & others. I’ll admit I didn’t know much about either of the candidates but hey, I was a college student & that free ticket was enough to get my vote 24 hours later. I remember asking the elderly polling assistant if it was ok my Chad’s weren’t punched all the way through & her assuring me it was fine, she can tell who I meant to vote for. I was so disappointed that my vote ultimately didn’t count because of the US Supreme Court’s decision in Bush v Gore. It made me want to learn more about who were these 9 people got to determine my vote didn’t count. That sparked my interest in the judiciary.
As disappointed as I was in 2000, I was even more disappointed when John Kerry lost in 2004 & GW Bush was reelected. My faith in Democrats was revived in 2008 when Barak Obama won the presidency, Democrats won the House & eventually won a 60 vote, filibuster proof majority. I was at the height of my love for Democrats when majority leader Harry Reid invoked the Nuclear Option, finally ending the filibuster for judicial nominees.
It’s been downhill since then. Trump winning in 2016 was the start. Durbin not ending blue slips once Democrats won back the presidency & senate was next. Some judicial issues such as the Ramirez/Childs/Pan nominations, Jabarri Wamble & William Delaney nomination debacles all were low points amongst some very bright highlights during the Biden presidency.
But nothing… Nothing, nothing NOTHING could have prepared me for today. This is the single worst deal in judicial history. I know we have said majority leader’s McConnell or Reid wouldn’t have agreed to this. I honestly don’t think ANY majority leader in my lifetime would have agreed to such a horrible deal. Not Tom Dashcle, not Bill Frist, not Trent Lott. If you paid me one million dollars last night to come up with the worst possible deal that Chuck Schumer would agree to, it wouldn’t have been as bad as this deal.
This is why Democrats lose. To put it bluntly, this is why Democrats deserve to lose. They have great ideas but can’t sell it while Republicans have terrible ideas but at least are tough & can get things done. I’ve said numerous times the Republicans are about to show Democrats what to do when you have power, but they are getting started while they are still in the minority. The Republican majority doesn’t start January 3rd. It started last night when this deal was agreed to. Congratulations to senate Republicans. They earned & deserve to be in the majority.
Where is President Biden, still in the Amazon? Where is the vice President, off in Hawaii? Nobody was around to pump the brakes on this idiotic deal? This Democrat leadership team just needs to go. Just go. Seriously just go. The Party needs to hit rock bottom (Arguably that time has arrived already) & rebuild with young, fresh leadership. I would rather suffer the next four years through a President Trump & Republican majority in the senate then to EVER see Chuck Schumer or Dick Durbin leading senate Democrats again.

I am finding it hard to sleep, i close my eyes and wake up with the thought of james ho and lawrence van dyke lite in their 30s or 40s on this circuit court seats , especially the 1st circuit we thought was trump proof and it sickens me to my stomach, i sincerely with all my heart hope the worst for sen manchin and sinema family, children and all loved ones. I dont advocate any form of violence against them but if i would not share a tear if them or their wife/spouse or kids suffer an untimely demise, all i hope is it be painful as it can be.
its that serious to me, its that vile what this democrats have done. Its that evil of a betrayal. I cant let this go. This is a travesty, but the troll frank who belongs in on stormfront and not here talking judges will assure us it will all be okay and the other users will indulge and agree with his nonsense.
I curse the day schumer became majority leader.

I would’ve been fine (or whatever is worse than fine but still unhappy) with Trump winning as long as he had to deal with the same senate headaches that Biden had to deal with in 2021. A majority in the senate, but a lot of sweating to get nominees and judges through. Hell, if just one of the Brown/Tester/Casey triumvirate had won and the GOP had a 51-49 majority, it still gave me hopes that the worst of the worst of Trump’s cabinet and judicial nominees wouldn’t be rubber stamped. But all 3 losing makes Collin’s (fake) concern and Murkowski’s moderate schtick useless. There are 51 senators ready to confirm a cheese sandwich (that obviously clerked for Scalia and Thomas and leads their local FedSoc chapter) to whatever Trump and Thune wants.
But the final nail in the coffin is to get on here and to check Twitter and see that Schumer rolled over like the walking roadkill he is and is allowing Trump to inherit THREE F*CKING APPELLATE VACANCIES in exchange for the remainder of the DISTRICT COURT NOMINEES. I feel like I’m crazy town, this must be backwards day, or this is a cruel prank to add insult to injury after getting everyone’s hopes up on election day. In the year of our lord 2024, a SENATE DEMOCRATIC LEADER just gifted A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT 4 GODDAMN APPELLATE VACANCIES in exchange for more than a dozen TRIAL COURT/DISTRICT COURT JUDICIAL NOMINEES??!!?!?!
Did Biden and Schumer spend the entirety of Biden’s term asleep while the 5th, 8th, 11th, and 6th circuits block numerous policies from continuing? I’m fairly certain that Schumer has tweeted dozens of times about how the “MAGA 5th and 8th circuits” are engaging in judicial activism in routinely blocking the Biden administration. And your solution is to ….. *checks notes* …. hand Trump 4 more vacant seats to fill with more right-wing hacks? I have no words because I can’t imagine how fucking stupid you have to be to not only take the deal, but to not bust out laughing as soon as Thune or McConnell finish proposing that bullshit to your face.
Shit like this is why the Democrats DESERVE to lose. Because when they’re in power, they roll over and expose their bellies like the fucking lapdogs they truly are. Just disgusting.
Why would I go to the polls in 2026 and beyond to support a feckless party that rolls over and is scared of a confrontation??!?
You know what you do whenever you have power and are running out of time?? EXACTLY what the Senate GOP did as soon as they realized their majority was coming to an end. Just ram through all judges that got through the SJC. A SCOTUS justice while the American People were voting? You betcha. A circuit court judge to replace the judge you just elevated? You betcha. More unqualified district court judges to leave your successor less vacancies? You f*cking betcha.
And what does Schumer do? Beg 2 of his corrupt and diet republican members not to oppose him and finds the path of least resistance.
I. am. disgusted.
Upset. and. demoralized.
No need to vote for Dems going forward, they have proven themselves to be weak and ok with right-wing authoritarianism as long as they themselves are not financially and personally affected.
Whatever good vibes that I had looking back at Biden/Schumer/and Durbin’s tenure being in charge of judges is completely gone. C- when all is said and done. I’m sad that the American People will have to suffer from more FedSoc hacks in their judiciary. but they voted for a clown, expect a circus. What caught me by surprise, was the “opposition party” helping to make the circus bigger.

Muslim judge on third circuit didn’t have dem support. So that’s 3 judges.
2 other judges haven’t actually taken senior service yet so presumably go back to active service if they care enough. That leaves 1.
That vacancy is on the first circuit which is currently 4 Biden judges and one Obama. One trump judge isnt going to matter. And not something worth skipping thanksgiving over lol |
