ok, let's back up. Trump and his people were telling everyone in the government in advance to get the National Guard up there, etc.

Pelosi and libs wanted to see something they could claim was an insurrection. so they pulled protection.

the FBI should have been all over this in terms of preventing anyone from entering the Capitol. but the FBI's leadership is compromised.

the FBI should have had plainclothes people within the crowd. it's their fucking job. had they not had embedded personnel it would have been a failure. but the FBI's biggest failure, by far, was that they and the libs could have, should have, done what Trump's people asked and prevented the J6 incident.

It's not their job. Capitol Police are part of the Legislative Branch and don't answer to DOJ or the FBI. If anything the FBI did them a favor by having informants in the crowd.

Link to Trump telling everyone else we needed the national guard to protest against the mobs he ordered to come to the Capitol and make trouble?

can you rephrase, please, counsel?

PER NPR - no "undercover employees"

No undercover employees

The report also found no evidence that the FBI had undercover employees in the protest crowds or at the Capitol on Jan. 6, although the watchdog determined that 26 FBI informants were in D.C. on the day. The report said three of the informants were tasked by the FBI with traveling to Washington specifically to report on domestic terrorism subjects who might be attending the event.

None of the informants, the report said, were authorized to enter the Capitol or a restricted area, or to break the law. However, the inspector general's review found that four of them did enter the Capitol on Jan. 6, and an additional 13 entered the restricted area around the Capitol. None of them have faced charges, the report says.

What's wrong with this? It doesn't say any actual agents were there.

Cons don't seem to know much about how these cases were actually prosecuted, or who got hit with serious sentences, or why, or based on what evidence. Libs aren't super spun up on this either, but they generally know more about the actual facts than cons. Always been that way.

again, they SHOULD have had agents there. it's their fucking job.

and of course they and 5-6 layers of government should have heeded Trump's call for NG, etc.

It's not at all their job to have agents there. They are part of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH, and Congress already has its own police (including undercover agents) who don't answer to the DOJ Inspector General. The last thing Congress wants (or needs) is the FBI up in its grill.

This used to be a law board.
