or nurse practitioners?

Every person in my wife's extended family (gen X and millennial) came to or is trying to come to the US to be a nurse.

I tell them they have to go back, but they are pretty set on becoming nurses. That said every Filipino nurse I've had has been pretty great.

nurse depends whether you mean a real RN with a bachelor's in nursing, or some kind of LPN / nurse aid with a "certificate" from a for-profit / trade school.

PA / NP has nothing to do with a regular nurse.

if by "more training" you mean a completely separate master's degree and exam, then yes

retard shtick? i know nurses who literally never stepped inside a classroom to become an NP. they did their entire training online. it may be a "masters" but it has zero RIGOR

tons of people work jobs that don't offer professional advancement. that said, these people can end up in admin jobs within the medical field.

the cute ones are gonna marry Dr. Chad anyways, so they don't care.

the rest get to work 3 days a week and wear pajamas to work.

Top nurses in a real hospital make 70-90 years in but I'm sure there are exceptions making above six figure. Physicians assistants make the same but many more making low, low-six figures with right specialty.

There are also a ton of nurses making $18/hour at nursing homes and other bullshit nursing jobs where they just change bedpans.

Highly variable depending on practice setting, location, etc.

Major metro areas on the coasts like NYC/Boston/LA/SF starting RN salaries can range from $65-$85k in a hospital setting. If you work nights and overtime with some seniority you can make $100k. Nursing managers can make $150k at some places. If you want earn more than that you will have to make the move to hospital administration.

Places in the South and Midwest you will make less... it would be unusual for a standard RN to make over $85-$90k at the top end.

NP and PA compensation is even more varied, in some institutions RNs can earn more because those positions are union whereas NP and PA positions are generally not.
