Tech nerds, help me figure out how to rip a DVD

I have a computer and a $90 cheap-o DVD player. Also have a camcorder that easily syncs with the computer if that will somehow help. |

Or, play the dvd on your tv, film the tv with your camcorder, and upload your new shaky cam files |
