IME it helps to work out a lot
Exercise itself helps kill cravings. But then there's also an effect where when your heart rate is up, you simply don't want a nicotine bump on top of it because it's a bit uncomfortable IMO.
At least that's how it is for me. My old man is a very brisk walker and would often rip cigs in the midst of exerting himself. It's a bit unfathomable to me, but he's an odd duck.

Yeah smoke blowing in my eyes was always something I avoided
And then people go the other way with it too, they get some sort of oral fixation, or a fixation on doing something with their hands. I never got that either.
I was recently explaining the merits of Zyn to an older female smoker and she asked me what I would do with my hands. I was like, uhhhh, IDK, never really been an issue for me
