Example, race car sims where you use real steering wheels with resistance and pedals (I have this and its fucking 180000) with a triple monitor setup for immersion in 1440p high settings.

Apparently legit F1 drivers do driving sims competitively - one top dude (forget his name) got in trouble for staying up all night competing in an online sim race the night before his IRL car race. THis shit is really good now.
I follow some sim racing groups, and the consensus is that triple monitors >>>>>>> VR for this stuff, provided they are big enough. VR is good now but there is more fatigue. Three monitors does give you the sensation of IRL driving and you can see the steering wheel in your hand. I think that many people like triple monitors for flight sims too, but maybe VR has more advantages in that than driving. |

i use a logitech g29 at my home office desk. ive thought about getting a dedicated rig because i do flight sim too(MSFS and DCS) but im limited on space currently.
ive never played AC but the subscription is what keeps the riffraff and kids out. i always hated playing games like Forza/Gran Turismo because the people drive like dumbasses. the iRacing community is far more mature. |

It was actually a cool card, just really noisy. Later on I had to buy a RTX 4070 so I could use Nvidia Broadcast, and that card consumes no juice. Fans never run. But for playing games it's not really any better than the 1080ti, from what I can tell. The only "modern" game that ever grabbed my attention was Hitman 3, and that shit runs the same. What game developers call "ray tracing" has always been a joke if you know what real "ray tracing" involves. No one actually uses that shit IRL, it's so dumb. |
