Firm is more weighted toward performance and bonus vs in-house because you’re revenue vs cost. Some exec comp has huge bonus potential but it’s usually CEO, CRO, CFO based on achieving quantifiable targets and also on the basis that they have more direct impact on achieving top line growth or keeping expenses in check. What's your total comp? If it's 215 base + ~50 bonus, that's moderately low. If there's 50 or more of equity (that's actually valuable, not failing start up funny money) and a 401k match, you're doing OK. |

215 base is decent. Seems tough to get much above that in most cases. 250 or 300 base would be good, but hard to come by.
Same with the bonus. 25%/50k is OK. Getting close to 100k is possible.
So it's really the equity that's most holding you back.
Without knowing more (locality, specialty, company type, previous experience), it's difficult to be more specific. |
