Looks like he could start as pitcher and bat for himself as DH even after getting replaced as pitcher, but if he were the DH and came in as a reliever, they would lose their DH spot, meaning future relievers would need to bat or be replaced by pinch hitters. He could also start as pitcher, hit as the DH, get pulled, keep hitting, then reenter as a relief pitcher, with the Dodgers forfeiting the DH once he got pulled as a reliever.
