NYC? wouldn't you rather your firm just pay you that money and you do with it what you want (like take the subway)? this is why benefits are TTT.

the firm likely bills it to the client (or they may just eat the cost if the client is known to be cheap).

but yes, you are correct. fringe benefits are ttt. i don't normally eat breakfast, but i order a hotel breakfast when i travel for biz and it's usually $30-$40. i'd rather have the cash. but it doesn't work like that.

how does your per diem for food work? you have to order at the hotel and the firm pays the hotel bill? or you can go wherever you want and just turn in your receipts and get reimbursed?

either way works. you pay the hotel bill and get reimbursed, anyway.

(fyi, at some firms, you get a corp card, but you still have to keep your receipts and submit them for accounting purposes.)

there's lots of those sorts of things that you can do to push the boundaries and jew the firm/client.

it's all unethical and would fall under the category of cheating/overcharging your client, etc. but if you're jew enough and don't give a fuck about the ethics, the issue is whether you'd get caught. what you suggest is relatively unlikely to get you caught, of course.
