The ranks of fats and obesoids are declining among people of means. I have a somewhat chubby Dad-Bod. I sit on the borderline between Normal and Overweight, oscillating between them depending on what I ate. I look like a responsible father and member of the UMC class. I'm clearly not vain enough to spend my valuable time working out instead of advancing my career or playing with the children. I am also responsible enough to not jeopardize my health by eating like an obese freak.
But now with everyone on GLP's, I look no better than these irresponsible, unhealthy people. It's really a kick in the gut for status.

I’ve been saying this for years now, and this still seems like the right instinct. But totally separate from weight loss or diabetes the newer research about its cancer prevention capabilities changes the equation for me because roughly 80% of my family has died of cancer and both of my parents have already had cancer. My diet, sleep, smoking history, stress levels and lack of consistency with exercise since my 20s are all now like 25 years worth of risk factors in addition to my genetics, and it seems like the short cut for anti-inflammatory purposes might be the best reason of all to give it a try. Bonus if I can drop the 20-30 lbs I really don’t need, but won’t ever get rid of without better habits.
