Because for reasonable most people, if they see a particular group constantly attacking, threatening, murdering, embargoing, and pillaging its neighbors, they tend to think badly about the one doing those things. Particularly if the numbers bear out that it's essentially a one-sided affair

3. The median Palestinians in Palestine have, at minimum, a fair and sensible argument and historically I've penned more to make space for it than most Progressives have. Their treatment is abysmal and the whole thing is an atrocious mess that has no clear compromise that will leave both parties feeling satisfied. The best route out is probably going to be a Kissinger-esque agreement that will leave everyone equally unsatisfied and united in their newly found dislike of the mediator.

Juxtaposed, the "big tent Progressives" agitating for Palestine in the US have no such thing and have done an immense amount to degrade both the purity of the Palestinian cause as well as to infect and pollute the Palestinian mission with all sorts of Western degeneracy and what the pan-Islamist Sayyid Qutb called the "political schizophrenia of Western democracy."
