Installed LM Studio, Llama, and ComfyUI over the weekend on my gaming PC. Seems to run currently available models pretty well.

So what am I supposed to do with this now?

I’ve got a pile of data locally. Basically everything that covers my research area and that I’ve written professionally. But all the really good data lives in my company’s systems and they let me use unlimited frontier models. So I’m not sure that I’m getting any professional mileage out of having this available at home.

If you’ve got a decent amnt of data you should try post-training one. With good post-training even open models can get close to SOTA on specified fields.

Wait, WTF! You can’t just tell these things, “Hey, everything you need to be a derivatives attorney and structurer is in that folder. 100 gigabytes of documents and emails. I’ll be in the gym.”

I haven't done it personally but 100gb should be plenty for decent results. Look up fine-tuning for whatever model you've got.
