I suspect it's different depending on region, but all center around the perception that white men are the most powerful in the world, and Asian cultures relatively uncorrupted by Western thought will value this highly. Given that Asian culture pushes women to marry up while men should marry someone to mother them, this causes women to look for white males but not males to seek white women.
