I spent $18k on ballet and baseball last year for 4 kids. Mostly for the ballet.

None of my kids are particularly remarkable and I don't expect scholarships or anything. It's just for the social impact.
Most of the costs are the monthly dance bill which is just under $1100. The travel ball team is $4000. Fuck it might be more than I thought. |

You can really tell who practices consistently by age 10. I didn't even play growing up and I spot ticks on swings all the time now. That's to say nothing of in game stuff like check downs and who backs up which position for a given play. Then Pitching is a whole other beast.
We were on vacation playing catch and I had a former scout staying next to us and he came over and mentioned he could tell my son had put in lots of practice time just based on a few throws. |

Today we have opening day games and ceremony (I score keep). After 5 I drive back to the hotel for the convention. That runs until about 10:00. It's fucking wild. These little girls go absolutely nuts screaming and yelling. I'll stay the night then drive home Sunday morning for 10:00 baseball practice (travel team). We did wed mass but missed last week.
