I think 7-5 is totally reasonable and if my suspicions are correct the new QB and the new WRs will be a much bigger upgrade on offense than people seem to realize, although the O/U win total of 7.5 seems exactly right. Every year CFB is replete with teams with OLs full of 2 and 3*s who are fifth year seniors and kick ass (see eg UW last year). Also a QB with some wheels who can really throw will help that, help the RB and convert 25ish 1st downs this season with his legs that will extend drives and yield another TD or more per game. You guys have literally never had a real, modern QB that’s this level of talent. I do think you will find yourselves pleasantly surprised by how much you enjoy the experience. This season they play Bama and USC early and that will generate a shitton of bad tape and they will lose 1-2 extra games as a result. They will be underdogs in either 5 of their last 6 or all six, and the odds they overachieve and surprise to be barely bowl eligible are low, but even if they do their recruiting will be ass after this. Fickell drank too much of his own kool aid when he was a hot name for a big job and he was probably the biggest loser in this last round of realignment, especially after Nebraska got a good coach.
