I had horrible grades from a shitty school (kind of gave up after 1L year when grades came in, and also was ambivalent and negative about law from get go).
Took bar, awaiting results...and have no job. Parents, non-law friends have no idea what its like. They think jobs will just magically appear.
I always knew this could be the end game (and that's why I made sure to take on ZERO debt). I guess this fact negates any sympathy from many of you...
But how are you faring? I have $0 debt, and $50,000 saved (was going to put about a 1/4th or so of that for engagement ring, but w/o job, THAT question isn't being popped anytime soon...).
I am fairly distraught, as I watch my savings wither away (figure it can last me about ~1.5 years at most--live in NYC). No desire nor ability to move (my whole life is in NY/NJ area). Have applied to non-legal stuff for over 6 months now...but as expected, nothing.
I actually like going out with other lawyers from area T2 schools, cause even the gainfully employed ones understand the legal market...and [most SHOCKING] to me, some of the BigLaw ones actually say I have it BETTER, because I have no debt! They complain about their debt...but I am left thinking, "You will make more money in the next 5 years then I will make in the next 20...how foolish and misguided are you)?
What are your guys' experiences, frustrations?

...figured I'd get some of this...
Being jobless, with $0 income coming in, AND rifiling through savings is so much worse financially than having a top job, making $200,000, on track to make more over the next 50 years due to the prestige and visibiliyt of that job, even WITH FULL debt.
And besides...I understand those who went to the Dukes, Penn, Harvard etc. with full debt and were no-offered; that sucks...but anyone foolish enough to take $150k to go to a T2 is utterly hopeless and idiotic beyond words.

So let's get this straight, you have 50,000 saved, no debt, and just happen not to have a job in the worst economy since the Great Depression.
And you want sympathy? Go fuck yourself, faggot.
