The evidence laid out in the article linking his IRL to his moniker is strong, but it's also entirely circumstantial. He resigned within hours of being contacted by CNN. Whatever was communicated to him (aside from the circumstantial evidence actually cited in the article) may have convinced him that he had no possible deniability - perhaps a smoking gun email from him to the tipster that irrefutably outed him. If that is the case, he has to know who the tipster is. I can't imagine that he outed himself to more than a few folks. I might be missing something - I haven't been following this closely and am just now catching up.

It sounds like CNN contacted him on Thursday. Then a Fox News spokesperson replied to CNN's e-mail.

So it sounds like Charles immediately took it to his bosses, probably including Tucker, and they collectively decided he should resign so this could hopefully be a one- or two-day story given the current situation Tucker is in. It remains to be seen whether this has enough legs to really harm Tucker - the way CNN tied Charles' posts to Tucker segments was designed for maximum damage to Tucker.

Tucker mentioned CNN specifically in a segment about cancel culture last night that seemed to be an oblique reference to Charles.
