Anyone who challenges this just either doesnt have a high enough iq to understand it or hasn’t emotionally processed it yet. Most of the inertia is just caused by people not being able to do advanced logic and code themselves so they wait on some other faggot to confirm it so they feel safe saying it.

People are very bad at understanding information and even worse at integrating discrete pieces of information into a unified, novel whole

People are REALLY good at accepting what others say. The difference here is that instead of the news or government or dipshot figureheads like celebrities and talk show hosts giving the instructions, it's technology (and the people hiding behind the technology)

Humanity has always been this dumb

They have always been this dumb, but if you are dumb then maybe don't claim a technology isn't smarter than you? Imagine being too dumb to understand higher logic and C++ and then just claiming the machine must be spitting out nonsense because a man named melvin on reddit said so. Very easy to confirm AI is capable of doing these things. But then again, most people didn't have access to o3 pro and 5 just came out. but still whats insane is that 5 in high reasoning outperforms o3pro but retards are acting like its dumber than 4o. Like bro the thing can do quantum physics and they'll be over here arguing with redditors about whether it has the "wrong" political opinions. and so yes I agree they have always been this dumb but that's why it shouldn't be surprising how easy it was for machines to surpass them

I'm saying that people who don't realize that AI has surpassed human intelligence are just coping hard. It's very easy to confirm it yourself. But people just say "oh but what if the higher category theory its doing isn't *right* or what if its just copying something Eugene wrote in latex last week. What if it can't REALLY synthesize advanced quantum circuits in 3 45 second pass throughs that would take a top .1% human weeks to do? Honestly not hard to confirm that it can do this stuff but people just assume its fake until the right people say its true and tech companies are overly cautious in their claims. And the funny part is that since academics are always even more cautious because they are grant money pigs, reddiors hear what they say and then claim the tech companies are over exaggerating when really they are underexaggerating

I think caution is warranted given the inmense havoc this is going to wreak on society. Between job loss, scams, and hunter seeker drones we are all well and truly fuct so ya lets slow down our race to perdition whether its through mass idiocy or some other means im fine with it.
